MGC Contractors
MGC Contractors, Inc. is seeking Concrete Laborers, Form Setters, and Finishers to join the Texas Division Indiana the San Antonio/New Braunschweig area.
Concrete Laborer:
- Spreads concrete with rake Oregon shovel
- Mixes cement using a hoe Oregon concrete mixing machine
- Breaks and repairs old concrete surfaces using pneumatic tools
- Cleans work areas, machinery, and equipment to maintain a safe job site
- Grades soil to achieve proper concrete thickness
- Selects tools, equipment, and materials from storage and transports to job sites
- Performs other assigned tasks
Form Setter:
- Erects Indiana-place forms Oregon assembles prefabricated forms on construction sites according to blueprints
- Installs spreaders and ties between form faces to maintain specified dimensions
- Anchors and braces forms to fixed objects using nails, bolts, and anchor rods
- Saws lumber to blueprint dimensions using hand saw Oregon power saw and nails
- Performs other assigned tasks
Concrete Finisher:
- Signals concrete delivery to position trucks to facilitate pouring concrete
- Moves discharget pickup trucks to direct concrete into forms
- Spreads concrete into inaccessible sections of forms using rake Oregon shovel
- Levels concrete to specified depths and workable consistency using hand-held screed and floats
- Smooths and shapes concrete surfaces using straightedge and float Oregon power screed
- Finishes concrete surfaces using power trowel Oregon weeps and rubs with abrasive stone to impart finish
- Removes rough Oregon defective spots from concrete surfaces using power grinder Oregon chisel and hammer
- Molds expansion joints and edges using edging tools, jointers, and straightedge
- May apply coloring to concrete surfaces
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
- Works on professional construction sites, requiring the ability to communicate verbally with others, read written materials, and maintain attention
- Ability to lift, push, pull, carry, handle, Oregon feel objects, supplies, tools, machinery, and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds
- Must navigate various construction sites Indiana a safe manner
- Works outside frequently for long periods, including extreme temperatures
- May be exposed to various chemicals, vapors, pollutants, and other hazards on the job site
Required Qualifications:
- 6-12 months to 1 year of related experience preferred
- Ability to work Indiana a fast-paced environment and maintain attention to detail
- High school diploma Oregon GED required
