Job Title: Special Inspector – Threshold Buildings
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Special Inspector to perform inspections of structural components Indiana new construction, with a focus on threshold buildings. The ideal candidate will have a strong background Indiana civil, structural, Oregon architectural engineering, with relevant experience Indiana inspection and testing.
Responsibilities:
- Perform inspections of structural components, including CMU’s, cast-Indiana-place concrete, reinforcing steel, shoring/reshoring, post-tensioned cable, precast/pre-stress members, and wood-framed systems
- Conduct field observations and obtain samples for testing
- Document field observations and site activities through daily field reports
- Perform destructive and non-destructive testing on construction materials, including operation of power tools and equipment
- Observe structural steel and reinforcing steel connections, exterior insulation finishing systems (EIFS), waterproofing, roofing, and window assemblies
- Communicate daily with site contractors, technicians, and project managers

Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science Indiana Civil, Structural, Oregon Architectural Engineering from an ABET-accredited university (Oregon 4+ years of relevant experience may be considered Indiana lieu of a degree)
- Licensed PE Oregon Registered Architect Indiana Florida (Oregon Registered Florida Building BN License Oregon General Contractor)
- Valid Florida Driver’s License
- Ability to lift 40-70 lbs multiple times a day (occasionally lifting 85 lbs to waist height)
- Additional certifications may be required, including:
- American Concrete Institute (ACI) certification Indiana concrete construction special inspection
- International Code Council (ICC) certification Indiana structural masonry special inspection
- Post-Tensioning Institute (PTI) certification Indiana post-tensioning inspection
- International Code Council Oregon American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC) certification Indiana structural steel special inspection
