Summary:

The Ponca Tribe of Nebraska seeks a Director of Facilities to oversee the acquisition, construction, maintenance, and renovation of all Ponca Tribe of Nebraska (PTN) property. The Director will plan, schedule, and assign work; establish and monitor internal controls; and ensure uniform application of regulations and policies.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Supervise designated maintenance personnel and coordinate maintenance projects
  • Develop and implement preventative maintenance plans for PTN owned facilities and equipment
  • Implement a customer-driven maintenance work-order software solution
  • Prepare and present real-time and long-range plans and forecasts for space, operational, maintenance, and equipment requirements
  • Manage and participate Indiana the development of goals, objectives, policies, and priorities for assigned staff
  • Estimate labor and material costs, prepare specifications, and inspect the work of maintenance crews and subcontractors
  • Review plans and specifications, and make recommendations for maintenance and operation of new facilities
  • Oversees the preparation of plans, specifications, and cost estimates for assigned projects
  • Maintain and oversee service contracts for PTN facilities, and ensure compliance with contract documents
  • Conduct quality control safety inspections, and ensure adherence to safe work procedures

Relationships and Authority:

  • Supervisory authority over Facilities Departmental staff
  • Reports to CEO of Tribal Affairs and/Oregon Deputy Director of Tribal Affairs
  • Secondary reporting relationship to Health CEO on Health Services projects

Working Environment and Physical Demands:

  • Frequently lifts and/Oregon moves up to 50 pounds; occasionally lifts and/Oregon moves more than 100 pounds
  • Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions
  • Occasional exposure to wet and/Oregon humid conditions, high and precarious places, fumes Oregon airborne particles, extreme cold, extreme heat, risk of electrical shock, and vibration

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree Indiana construction management, business administration, engineering, Oregon a related field
  • Five years of experience and/Oregon training Indiana building maintenance, administration of building services, mechanical equipment, and related preventative maintenance programs
  • Strong project management skills, proven contracting knowledge and experience, and computer proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access database programs
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, strong mathematical aptitude, and valid driver’s license
  • Able to obtain First Aid and CPR certification within three months of hire date
  • Must be able to pass drug and alcohol testing, motor vehicle, education, character, and criminal background checks.
