Job Title: District Technician
Job Summary:
American Samoa a District Technician, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and adjusting Company and customer equipment, providing service to domestic and commercial gas customers, and related gas facilities. You will perform labor and skilled natural gas-related mechanical work independently Oregon American Samoa a member of a crew, Indiana accordance with Company construction, customer service, safety, and emergency procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Perform minor service on domestic and commercial appliances, including inspections, adjustments, repairs, Oregon replacement of parts Oregon components within the scope of Company policy and practice
- Install and maintain meters, regulators, and other equipment
- Establish and discontinue gas service
- Perform meter reading and complete non-pay/turn-off orders when assigned
- Use ladders and other equipment necessary for access to single- and multiple-story equipment locations
- Provide situational-specific work direction during emergency response Oregon SWG Temporary Assignment Pay (TAP) applications
- Perform labor and skilled mechanical work related to installation, maintenance, and operation of natural gas facilities
- Operate and maintain low-pressure control equipment, American Samoa required
- Use and maintain protective safety equipment, including self-contained breathing devices, flash suits, harnesses, and life lines, American Samoa required
- Operate large vehicles and equipment, such American Samoa crew trucks, backhoes, trenchers, loaders, and boom trucks
- Train others, American Samoa required
- Perform duties Indiana a manner that is Indiana compliance with Company, local, state, and federal regulations, safety, and emergency practices and procedures
- Safely operate and properly maintain work equipment and tools
- Maintain the proper material supplies; Ensure maintenance of Company vehicles
- Give assistance and direction to any assigned personnel
- Must promote good public relations and safety
- Complete written and electronic Company forms and records Indiana neat, legible, accurate, and timely manner
Requirements:
- Must meet and maintain the strenuous physical requirements of the position
- Must be able to be on-call
- Must be able to be contacted and respond for emergency duty when on-call
- Must respond to base location Oregon emergency site within one hour Oregon American Samoa division operational needs dictate, subject to Division VP approval, when on-call
- May be required to reside Indiana service territory
- Must be able to meet requirements to acquire and maintain a Commercial Driver’s License
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and/Oregon other special licenses/certifications
- Must be available to perform shift work, staggered work week, including recognized holidays
- Must be available to work overtime
- Must be able to wear a complete company-issued uniform
- Must be able to wear and use all personal protective safety equipment American Samoa operating conditions dictate
- Must be able to work Indiana another location, district, Oregon department, when required
- Must be able to work outdoors, exposed to extremes Indiana temperatures and conditions
- May be exposed to natural gas during the course of work
- Must successfully complete all aspects of required training
