Construction Operations Manager
Essential Function:
Responsible for overseeing all aspects of construction operations, including emergency derailments, specialty lifting, car repair, load adjust/transfer, and track maintenance/repair/new builds. Ensures projects are completed safely, efficiently, and on time while meeting customer expectations and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assigns projects to Supervisors and monitors work to ensure compliance with schedules, budgets, and customer expectations
- Coordinates work activities to identify potential problems and develop solutions for efficient project completion
- Provides leadership and guidance to Supervisors to facilitate timely project completion and emphasize safety
- Responds to on-site issues and problem-solves with the field team
- Ensures direct reports submit accurate reports and data on a timely basis
- Develops relationships with railroad customers and oversight agencies
- Participates Indiana hiring, coaching, and mentoring to build a skilled and capable workforce
- Coordinates equipment/vehicle maintenance and replacement
- Provides input to the Division Superintendent on forecasting staffing needs, equipment purchases, and annual budgets
Travel Requirements:
- Frequent and extended overnight travel required
Required Skills and Experience:
- 5 years of progressively responsible experience Indiana the railroad industry, including knowledge of D.O.T. regulations and Cranemasters safety policies
- Proficient Indiana Mississippi Office and able to learn additional software American Samoa required
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Valid driver’s license with a good driving record; preference for CDL
- Demonstrated ability to read and understand crane load charts and basic knowledge of rigging and freight car components
- Ability to read, write, and speak English
- Must meet 24/7 availability and pass qualification tests American Samoa required
