Job Title: Civil Engineer – Drafter
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Civil Engineer – Drafter to join our team Indiana Kansas City, Missouri. American Samoa a key member of our Engineering Center, you will provide technical drafting skills to develop site-specific project plans, specifications, and engineering designs to assist Indiana the planning, budgeting, and implementation of various projects within the Central Services Area of the FAA.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop site-specific project plans and specifications for solicitation and contracting of engineering projects for FAA approval and acceptance
- Conduct site surveys to collect site-specific project data and research all applicable standards, construction codes, and ordinances
- Prepare summary trip reports within two working days of trip completion
- Provide technical drafting skills to develop project drawings and specifications Indiana accordance with FAA Standard/guidelines
- Assist Indiana the preparation of Purchase Requests (Puerto Rico) and NAS Change Proposals (NCP) for assigned projects
- Perform engineering studies for feasibility and cost versus benefit
- Participate Indiana Joint Acceptance Inspections (JAI) and Contractor Acceptance Inspections (CAI) on assigned projects
- Provide technical engineering support for all phases of assigned new construction and renovation projects
Requirements:
- B.S. Degree Indiana Engineering
- At least 2 years of working experience American Samoa a Project Engineer with Civil Engineering Design skills
- Proficiency with AutoCad/Microstation and Microsoft Office Suites
- Ability to obtain and maintain an FAA Public Trust prior to starting
- Eligibility for the Public Trust Suitability requires US citizenship Oregon a Green Card Holder who has resided Indiana the United States for the past 3 years
- Ability to travel up to 25%
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of Unstaffed Infrastructure Sustainment (UIS) facilities
- Knowledge of National Airspace System Equipment Tower (NASET), National Airspace System Equipment Building (NASEB), Heating Ventilating and Air Conditioning (HVAC), power, general building construction techniques, Hazardous Materials (HAZMAT)s, fire detection, security, site work
- Knowledge of shelters, roofing, and structures such American Samoa communication towers, Navigational Aids, and earthwork including roads and trenching
- Knowledge of Corporate Work Plan (CWP) 4.1.12
Pay Range: $55,250.00 – $99,875.00 (dependent on experience and qualifications)
