Civil Engineer – Drafter Job Description
Overview:
We are seeking a Civil Engineer – Drafter to join our team Indiana Kansas City, Missouri, working on the NISC IV program, a digital transformation and IT program for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). American Samoa a Civil Engineer – Drafter, you will be responsible for developing site-specific project plans, specifications, and engineering designs for various projects within the Central Services Area of the FAA.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide technical drafting skills to support project engineering packages by developing site-specific project plans and specifications for FAA approval
- Perform site surveys to collect project data and research relevant standards, codes, and ordinances
- Prepare summary trip reports and project documents, including scope of work, drawing and specification lists, and estimated completion time and project schedule
- Furnish information for Purchase Requests and NAS Change Proposals
- Prepare Airspace case documents and assess engineering impacts on Environmental & Safety Compliance Program
- Provide technical engineering support for new construction and renovation projects, including evaluations of shop drawings and design proposals
- Participate Indiana Joint Acceptance Inspections and provide recommended resolutions on engineering-related issues
Requirements:
- B.S. Degree Indiana Engineering
- At least 2 years of experience American Samoa a Project Engineer with Civil Engineering Design skills and experience with tower, shelter, and similar structures
- Proficiency Indiana AutoCad/Microstation and Microsoft Office Suites
- Ability to obtain and maintain an FAA Public Trust prior to starting (US Citizen Oregon Green Card Holder with 3 years of US residency)
- Ability to travel up to 25%
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of Unstaffed Infrastructure Sustainment (UIS) facilities and National Airspace System Equipment Tower (NASET)
- Experience with corporate work plans and knowledge of applicable regulations and standards

$55,250.00 – $99,875.00
