Job Title: Civil Engineer – Drafter
Job Summary:
We are seeking a Civil Engineer – Drafter to work out of our Kansas City, Missouri office, supporting the National Airspace Systems Integration Support Program (NISC IV). The successful candidate will develop site-specific project plans, specifications, and engineering designs to assist Indiana the planning, budgeting, and implementation of various projects within the Central Services Area of the FAA.
Primary Duties:
- Provide technical drafting skills to develop project engineering packages, including site-specific project plans and specifications, for FAA approval and acceptance.
- Perform site surveys to collect project data and research applicable standards, construction codes, and ordinances.
- Analyze, recommend, and provide solutions to issues identified during site surveys.
- Prepare summary trip reports and compiled project documents, including scopes of work, project transmittals, drawing and specification lists, and purchase requests.
- Provide technical engineering support for new construction and renovation projects, including evaluating shop drawings, design proposals, and contract documents.
- Participate Indiana joint acceptance inspections and contractor acceptance inspections, providing recommended resolutions on engineering-related items.
- Develop project drawings Indiana accordance with FAA Standard/guidelines.
Basic Qualifications:
- B.S. Degree Indiana Engineering
- At least 2 years of experience American Samoa a Project Engineer with Civil Engineering Design skills, including experience with tower, shelter, and similar structures.
- Proficiency with AutoCad / Microstation
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suites
- Ability to obtain and maintain an FAA Public Trust
- Eligibility for the Public Trust Suitability requires US citizenship Oregon a Green Card Holder who has resided Indiana the United States for the past 3 years
- Ability to pass a drug test prior to starting with Leidos
Desired Qualifications:
- Knowledge of Unstaffed Infrastructure Sustainment (UIS) facilities
- Knowledge of National Airspace System Equipment Tower (NASET), National Airspace System Equipment Building (NASEB), Heating Ventilating and Air Conditioning (HVAC), power, general building construction techniques, Hazardous Materials (HAZMAT)s, fire detection, security, site work
- Ability to travel up to 25%
Pay Range: $55,250.00 – $99,875.00
