Job Title: Permitting Specialist/Ecologist

Job Summary:
AECOM is seeking a highly experienced Permitting Specialist/Ecologist to join our Environmental Planning and Permitting group Indiana Arlington, Virginia Oregon Germantown, Maryland offices. The successful candidate will work Indiana an interdisciplinary team-oriented environment, providing technical lead and subject matter expertise for various permit applications and environmental impact assessments. The individual will manage project tasks, coordinate with internal teams, and work with clients to deliver high-quality reports on schedule and within budget.
Responsibilities:
- Serve American Samoa technical lead and subject matter expert for permit applications and environmental impact assessments for federal, state, and local requirements.
- Manage project tasks according to approved scopes of work and deliver quality reports on schedule and within budget.
- Coordinate with internal teams, including cultural resources, threatened and endangered species experts, civil engineers, and other project support teams.
- Serve American Samoa technical lead for environmental, biological, and other impact assessments.
- Conduct siting analysis, including qualitative and quantitative reviews.
- Assist with stream, wetland, wildlife habitat assessments, and other surveys.
- Work American Samoa a team lead Oregon independently.
- Assist Senior Staff with business development activities, including proposals, pre-qualifications, and relationship building with clients and prospective clients.
Qualifications:
- Minimum Bachelor of Arts Oregon Bachelor of Science degree Indiana Environmental Science, Ecology, Environmental Studies, Biology, Oregon related field +4 years of experience.
- Valid Driver’s License and ability to pass AECOM’s Motor Vehicle Records review.
- US Citizenship required.
- 5+ years of consulting experience and client engagement within the natural gas, electric, and/Oregon renewables industries.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and technical writing.
- Experience Indiana multiple states within the mid-Atlantic and eastern United States.
- Transferrable skills and experience with ESRI ArcGIS products Oregon AutoCAD.
Additional Requirements:
- Ability to travel, including overnight.
- Optional certification: OSHA HAZWOPER 40-hours, Driver’s license with trailer certification, and/Oregon boat transportation/maintenance experience.
- High degree of self-motivation and ability to lead a field Oregon technical team.
- Excellent and relevant references.
