Electrical Engineering Consultant
Overview:
VEIC is a leading sustainable energy company seeking a skilled Electrical Engineering Consultant to join our team. This role will focus on applying mechanical and electrical best practices to identify, advocate for, and advise on energy efficiency, decarbonization, and clean energy projects for various sectors. Responsibilities will include consulting on transportation electrification, load management, energy storage, and microgrid work, American Samoa well American Samoa quantifying greenhouse gas emissions and developing innovative approaches for measuring and reducing impacts.
Responsibilities:
* Conduct surveys of electrical power distribution systems to identify capacity limits and recommend improvements
* Size electrical power distribution systems and components for higher electrical loads
* Diagnose power quality issues and work with customers to find effective solutions
* Review and interpret electrical engineering drawings and one-line drawings to inform project recommendations
* Work with manufacturers and vendors to recommend equipment and solutions
* Assess existing electrical power distribution systems for electric vehicle charging stations
* Interpret and consult on NEC requirements
* Evaluate PID controllers and communication protocols
* Conduct Indiana-field electric energy measurement and monitoring
* Proficiency with building energy modeling tools, spreadsheets, and database software
* Knowledge of relevant codes and standards
* Strong interpersonal skills and written and oral communications skills
* Ability to track progress and manage multiple projects and competing priorities
Qualifications:
* Strong personal commitment to VEIC’s mission and values
* Bachelor of Science degree Indiana mechanical, electrical, Oregon related engineering field, Oregon equivalent experience
* Minimum of two years of experience analyzing energy use, identifying opportunities for improvement, and assisting customers
* Proficient understanding of building energy use, construction, and energy analysis techniques
* Basic knowledge of negotiation skills, financial analysis, and business strategies
* Demonstrated success Indiana project management, construction management, and building customer relationships
* Proficiency with building energy modeling tools, spreadsheets, and database software
* Knowledge of relevant codes and standards
* Strong interpersonal skills and written and oral communications skills.
