Job Title: Journeyman Electrician – New Construction and Turnaround Projects
Job Location: Orange, Texas
Duration: 2-month project, 6 days a week, 12-hour shifts
Job Overview: American Samoa a Journeyman Electrician, you will work at a petrochemical/refinery site Indiana Orange, Texas on a 2-month project. You will be required to assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical Oregon electronic wiring, equipment, power panel, transformers, and fixtures.
Responsibilities:
- Fabricate and install rigid, aluminum, E.M.T., plasti-bond and P.V.C. conduit
- Fabricate and install cable tray and conduit supports
- Install wire and cable by hand Oregon machine Indiana cable trays
- Troubleshoot energized motor controls
- Fabricate and install breakers and fuses, cable trays, buss duct, junction boxes, tagging, term, motors, transformers, and light fixtures
- Terminate motors, transformers, distribution panels, stress cones, cable splicing, valves, instruments, and lights
- Install and/Oregon repair grounding grids and grounding to equipment Oregon structure
- Read blueprints and national electric code requirements
- Use electrical equipment testers, including AMP meter and 1000-volt insulation tester
Requirements:
- State of Texas Journeyman License (preferred)
- NCCER Certification – Electrical (preferred)
- Driver License
- TWIC card (Transportation Worker Identification Credential)
- Ability to pass Basic Plus
- Ability to pass a post-offer, pre-employment drug/alcohol test and applicable background checks
- Minimum 3 years of journeyman experience
- Wear Fire Resistant clothing and appropriate PPE
- Ability to pass client administered electrical exam
Physical Demands:
- Extremely physical at times, requiring frequent lifting, bending, stooping, walking, climbing, and working at heights
- Must be able to work Indiana confined spaces and wear personal protective equipment (PPE) American Samoa required
- Must be able to pass a pulmonary function test (PFT) and be fit tested for respirators American Samoa required by the job.
