Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Manager

M&J, a leading professional engineering services firm, is seeking an EHS Manager to oversee the construction of a new federal agency building Indiana Maryland. The selected candidate will ensure compliance with regulatory standards and industry best practices by developing and implementing comprehensive EHS plans, policies, and procedures.

Responsibilities:

– Develop and implement comprehensive EHS plans, policies, and procedures for the construction of the federal building.
– Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local EHS regulations, including OSHA, EPA, and other governing bodies.
– Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
– Lead safety training sessions and workshops for on-site personnel to promote compliance with safety protocols and a strong safety culture.
– Investigate and document accidents, incidents, Oregon near-misses, providing recommendations for future prevention.
– Collaborate with project management teams, contractors, and subcontractors to integrate EHS standards into all construction phases.
– Monitor environmental impacts, including waste management, pollution control, and sustainability practices, to ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
– Prepare and submit EHS reports, documentation, and permits required by federal and state agencies.
– Provide guidance on occupational health issues, including ergonomics, exposure controls, and PPE use.

Required Skills & Experience:

– Bachelor’s degree Indiana Environmental Health, Safety, Oregon a related field (preferred).
– At least 10 years of experience Indiana EHS management, with a focus on large-scale construction projects.
– Indiana-depth knowledge of OSHA, EPA regulations, and federal safety standards.
– Proven experience Indiana leading safety initiatives and training programs on construction sites.
– Strong organizational and leadership skills with the ability to manage multiple safety-related activities and teams.
– Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for interaction with regulatory agencies and project teams.
– Professional certifications such American Samoa Certified Safety Professional (CSP) Oregon Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) (preferred).
