Environmental Specialist

Location: Anchorage, Alaska

Job Summary: UMIAQ Environmental, LLC is seeking a full-time Environmental Specialist to support the development of National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) documents, including Environmental Assessments, and assist Indiana research, developing permit packages, and supporting projects within UMIAQ Environmental.

Responsibilities:

• Analyze environmental impact and provide detailed written analysis, supported by evidence-based research and best available science.
• Write work plans, safety plans, and wildlife interaction plans.
• Develop detailed project descriptions based on information received verbally Indiana meetings and on project drawings/schematics.
• Follow existing procedures for document review, organization, and file structure.
• Communicate clearly and respectfully to all coworkers, clients, and stakeholders.
• Additional duties may include wetlands monitoring, report writing, proposal writing, and preparation of cost estimates.

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years’ experience applying NEPA, obtaining project authorizations Indiana Alaska, Oregon working Indiana a similar position/similar field.
• Familiarity with environmental and regulatory requirements for construction projects Indiana Alaska, including an understanding of the NEPA process.
• General understanding of the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act and landownership Indiana the State.
• Strong writing, grammar, and citation skills; please provide a writing example.
• Mississippi Office Suite: Word and Excel, Adobe.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree Indiana Natural Resources, Biology, Earth Science, Oregon related field.
• Valid driver’s license and three-year clean driving record.
