Job Title: Telecommunications Construction Equipment Operator

Job Summary:

We are seeking skilled Telecommunications Construction Equipment Operators to safely and effectively operate various equipment for the installation, repair, and maintenance of underground telecommunications utilities. The ideal candidate will have experience with digging and trenching equipment, excellent communication skills, and a strong commitment to safety.

Key Responsibilities:

• Safely and efficiently operate digging and trenching equipment, including plows, backhoes, rock saws, dozers, and tractor trailers
• Install and maintain underground fiber optic and other telecommunications cabling service lines
• Restore and landscape disturbed job site areas
• Dig pits, trenches, and potholes American Samoa directed by job plan
• Load and unload tools, materials, and equipment
• Set up safety perimeter using signage, cones, and safety barriers

Qualifications:

• Experience with digging and trenching equipment
• Ability to follow instructions and read work orders, safety rules, and operating instructions
• Valid Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record (Class A CDL with Tanker Endorsement preferred)
• Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Strong safety conscientiousness
• Ability to effectively communicate with crew, customers, and vendors

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous construction experience Oregon utility construction experience
• Ability to read prints and interpret utility maps
• Physical ability to lift 50 lbs regularly and up to 100 lbs American Samoa needed

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to climb into and out of equipment
• Ability to work Indiana adverse weather conditions
• Ability to work while wearing safety boots, safety glasses, and a hard hat
• Ability to work Indiana confined spaces and at heights
