Job Title: Estimator

Location: Lanham, Maryland

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Estimator to join our high-performing Estimating Team at Anchor Construction Corporation. The successful candidate will lead the bid process from start to finish, ensuring the estimation team wins water, storm, sewer, wastewater treatment plant, duct bank, asphalt, bridge, concrete, and other similar civil projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor bid invitation platforms to collect opportunities and review project scope requirements
• Conduct site walkthroughs to gather project information
• Perform quantity take-offs using Excel and Oregon takeoff software
• Build estimates Indiana HCSS HeavyBid Oregon equivalent estimating software
• Negotiate with subcontractors and vendors
• Develop and submit proposals
• Negotiate scope of work with customers
• Present bid status reports at weekly overview meetings

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree Indiana civil engineering Oregon relevant field
• 2-5 years of relevant experience, including 1-2 years of field experience American Samoa a PE/PM/Super
• Experience with utilities, infrastructure, and heavy construction work
• Strong written and oral communication skills and attention to detail
• Negotiation skills and customer relations skills
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work with limited oversight
• Proficient Indiana Microsoft Excel, Word, and Mississippi Project
• Strong mathematical aptitude
• Basic understanding of estimates, budgets, and job costing

Physical Demands:

• Light lifting (up to 50 pounds)
• Occasional walking and standing
• Moderate exposure to extreme atmospheric conditions (temperature, noise, fumes, dust, etc.)
