Construction Grade Checker
Rummel Construction, Inc. is a 100% employee-owned Heavy Civil General Contractor seeking an experienced Grade Checker to join their team. The successful candidate will work on mass excavation and grading projects throughout Southern Arizona, guiding earth moving equipment operators to ensure conformance to grade specifications.
Essential Functions:
* Set grade stakes to guide earth moving equipment operators Indiana cut & fill, sloping, excavation, and backfilling work
* Use measuring instruments and hand tools to measure and mark grade references
* Read survey stakes to determine grade specifications
* Observe, direct, and control equipment excavating activities to conform to stake references
* Communicate with equipment operators, supervision, and management
Requirements:
* 2+ years of experience performing grade checking, with substantial walking, bending, stopping, and lifting
* Familiarity with heavy equipment and experience Indiana residential/commercial construction and highway work
* Experience with Trimble GPS Rover System is a plus
* Strong communication and teamwork skills
