Fire Inspector Maintenance Specialist

Shift: Monday-Friday; 8:00am – 5:00pm

Job Summary: Oversee the fire extinguisher program including inspections, coordinate vendor schedules, review invoices, and maintain documentation. Assist with inspections, construction project reviews, and audits to identify fire/life safety deficiencies.

Responsibilities:

* Conduct fire extinguisher inspections on/off campus facilities
* Coordinate fire extinguisher program schedule with vendor
* Review and approve invoices
* Maintain documentation and track data Indiana computer-based fire extinguisher tracking program
* Schedule vehicle maintenance for the University Fire Marshal fleet
* Assist with inspections of Greek housing, residence halls, and university-owned buildings
* Conduct construction project reviews to ensure adherence to project scope and codes
* Compile reports with recommendations for correction of deficiencies

Requirements:

* Ability to read and interpret building plans, Kentucky IBC codes, and NFPA standards
* Associate Degree Indiana Fire Science
* Kentucky Level II Certified Building Inspector certification
* Public education/instruction experience Indiana classroom setting Indiana fire extinguisher use, fire and life safety preferred
