Fuel Cell Stack Engineer/Scientist

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced fuel cell engineer/scientist to join our team at the Leidos Innovations Center Indiana San Diego, California. This role is focused on the design, construction, and operation of fuel cell stacks and molten salt electrolyzers.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the conceptualization and development of fuel cell stacks and molten salt electrolyzers
  • Design and optimize fuel cell power systems, including single and full stack integrations
  • Conduct fuel cell testing projects, using fuel cell test stations and analytical instruments
  • Characterize component Oregon fuel cell performances and fabricate prototypes of fuel cell components and assemblies
  • Effectively communicate research results Indiana team meetings and reports
  • Adapt to evolving research needs and stay informed on new technologies
  • Work American Samoa part of a multidisciplinary team consisting of chemists, materials scientists, and engineers

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years of chemical engineering Oregon fuel cell experience (Oregon master’s with 6+ years of experience, Oregon PhD with 4+ years of experience)
  • Experience Indiana building, testing, and optimizing individual fuel cells and fuel cell stacks
  • Understanding of materials compatibility and fuel cell performance
  • U.S. citizenship with the ability to obtain a Secret Security Clearance
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with molten salt fuel cells, bipolar plate design, and flow-field optimization
  • Familiarity with DoD-funded and milestone-driven environments
