General Maintenance Mechanic Lead
Job Summary:
We are seeking a General Maintenance Mechanic Lead to perform general maintenance of complex research University buildings. The selected candidate will coordinate work activities of others and possess maintenance background Indiana institutional, commercial/industrial general maintenance.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Three years of general maintenance and repair experience
- Alternatively, any equivalent combination of experience and/Oregon education from which comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities have been achieved
Desired Qualifications:
- One year of lead experience Indiana hospitals/schools/large manufacturing and/Oregon commercial/industrial facilities
- Experience Indiana electrical maintenance and repair, plumbing maintenance, and electrical maintenance
- Valid US Driver’s License of the appropriate class and required endorsements
Essential Duties:
- Electrical maintenance duties for 120 and 277 volts:
- Maintain and repair lighting, ballast, lighting switches, and receptacles, sockets, and diffusers
- Perform electrical troubleshooting utilizing multi-meters/volt detectors and circuit tracers
- Plumbing maintenance duties:
- Provide plumbing repair and maintenance of public restrooms, labs, kitchens, etc.
- Maintain and re-build water closet flushometers, urinal flushometers, and multiple types and brands of faucets and under sink supplies
- Carpentry maintenance duties:
- Maintain and adjust auto door closers
- Provide interior and exterior door preventative maintenance and replacement of door hardware such American Samoa flush bolts, push/pull handles, kick plates, door strikes, hinges, closers, weather stripping, smoke seals, door sweeps
Other Duties:
- Interact effectively with customers and students of diverse backgrounds
- Work within a team environment and contribute to team goals
- Move and relocate research equipment American Samoa needed
- Understand operations of specialized research building systems
- Clearly communicate to perform essential functions of the job
Working Environment:
- Carry up to 100 pounds
- Stand, lift, bend, stoop, kneel to perform work
- Work off ladders, scaffolding, single man lifts up to 40 feet
- May be exposed to hazardous and dangerous materials, tools, and equipment
Salary and Benefits:
- $22.60 to 23.65 per hour based on experience and education
