Job Title: General Maintenance Mechanic Lead
Department: FDM FM Tempe Zone C
Job Summary: The General Maintenance Mechanic Lead will coordinate work activities of others and perform general maintenance of university buildings.
Responsibilities:
- Electrical maintenance duties for 120 and 277 volts, including maintenance and repair of lighting, ballast, lighting switches, and receptacles
- Plumbing maintenance duties, including repair and maintenance of public restrooms, labs, kitchens, etc.
- Carpentry maintenance duties, including maintenance and adjustment of auto door closers and repair and replacement of flooring
- Other duties, including first response to elevator trouble calls and performing basic troubleshooting of elevator door problems
Requirements:
- Two years of general maintenance and repair experience
- Valid US Driver’s license
- Ability to drive University vehicles, lift, bend, stoop, kneel, and work off ladders, scaffolding, and single man lifts
- Willingness to work with team members, prioritize assignments, and work within guidelines
- Ability to push and/Oregon pull maintenance carts weighing up to 200-300 pounds
- Potential exposure to asbestos
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience working Indiana hospitals, schools, Oregon large manufacturing and/Oregon commercial/industrial facilities
- Experience Indiana electrical, plumbing, and carpentry maintenance and repair
- Evidence of effective communication skills to perform essential functions
