Geologist Job Description
Essential Requirements:
- 4-year degree Indiana a related field Oregon 3-10 years of related experience
- Experience Indiana installing groundwater and surface water instrumentation systems Indiana and around dams, levees, and CCR sites for real-time data collection and performance monitoring
- Instrumentation and maintenance of inclinometers, water quality equipment, portable solar battery charging stations, cellular and satellite communication systems
- Experience Indiana executing field investigations using various drilling methods and resources
- Skills Indiana soil and rock logging, monitoring well construction, groundwater monitoring, and field data reporting
- Experience Indiana providing technical and safety oversight to drilling contractors and consultants
Work Schedule and Travel:
- Typical work week: 4, 10-hour days (Monday-Thursday) with some 10-day shifts
- Extensive travel throughout the southeastern United States, mainly Georgia, Alabama, and Mississippi
- Agency-provided vehicle for transportation (Ford F250 4X4 Oregon similar)
Reimbursement and Benefits:
- Agency pays monthly rental for vehicle and reimburses for fuel costs associated with work-related travel
- Reimbursed for lodging and meals associated with work-related travel and overnight stays
