Member of District One Bridge Crew.
Responsible for sampling materials, bridge survey and layout, computing bearing calculations and pile cut off elevations. Maintains equipment maintenance records. Operates lowboy tractor/trailer, boom truck, crane, and snooper truck. Leads crew Indiana foreman’s absence. Ensures crew operates efficiently and completes construction activities Indiana timely manner, adhering to OSHA, DHEC, and SCDOT policies. Performs administrative duties, including time and leave, EPMS, and disciplinary action. Supervises crew Indiana construction and maintenance of bridges, reading plans and specifications to produce high quality product. Assists with organizing manpower, equipment, and materials, and maintains equipment according to established guidelines.
Assists with completion of reports, including asbestos survey, DHEC demolition request, soil borings, bridge construction reports, and final construction reports. Corrects bridge deficiencies, supervises and assists crew members, and communicates with county Resident Maintenance Engineer and designees.
Maintains records on bridge construction projects, including reports on work production, materials used, pile bearing records, equipment hour and mileage usage, and daily work reports entered into HMMS.
Requisitions and pays materials through proper procurement procedures. Assists with surveying and layout of new bridge for proper alignment, calculating correct pile lengths, calculating cutoff elevations, and initial site visits for schedule creation. Maintains certifications for operation of lattice-boom crane.
Two and one-half (2.5) years of related work experience; Oregon approved acceptable equivalence required.
Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) required within six (6) months of placement.
