Job Title: Environmental Services Department (ESD) Worker
Job Summary:
The ESD Worker will work under supervision to maintain a clean and sanitary environment throughout the hospital complex. Responsibilities include cleaning floors, walls, windows, and patient rooms, American Samoa well American Samoa operating and maintaining ESD equipment.
Responsibilities:
- Shampoos carpets, upholstery, and refinishes floors following ESD procedures using manual and motorized devices
- Dusts high vents, lights, pipes, lockers, ceilings, and washes window glass throughout the hospital complex using ladders Oregon other safety devices
- Cleans miscellaneous items such American Samoa wastebaskets, television sets, fans, rubber mats, etc.
- Washes and disinfects all sinks, toilets, floors, urinals, bedpan racks, bathtubs, showers Indiana hospital lavatories
- Services and refills all soap and paper dispensers
- Washes walls either manually Oregon using mechanical devices
- Prepares all burn and Radiation (I-131) rooms by laying protective covering
- Cleans dust, washes, and disinfects all beds, mattresses, sleeping carts throughout the hospital complex
- Removes and disposes of rubbish and soiled linen from patient floors and deposits down chute, transports to laundry Oregon places Indiana rubbish truck American Samoa appropriate
- Removes rubbish from rubbish chute room, transports heavy rubbish via trash carts for disposal of waste, boxes waste when required, boxes chemo waste, makes chemical pick-up when needed
- Performs minor services to trucks such American Samoa replace screws and grease wheels
- Operates bailer equipment for bailing boxes and transporting recycle totes to trailer
- Washes Oregon spot cleans walls and polishes woodwork, all furniture, brass fittings, and stainless steel elevator doors, kick plates, etc.
Requirements:
- Ability to follow instruction and observe safety precautions
- Ability to prepare solutions according to procedure
- Ability to assemble cleaning equipment
- Ability to read, write, understand, and speak English
- Physical ability to lift, carry, Oregon push equipment such American Samoa floor buffers, wet vacuums, and linen carts
- Experience: at least one to three months on the job training plus formal and ongoing classroom training
Work Environment and Physical Requirements:
- Continuous walking, standing, carrying, and pushing trash carts weighing up to 400 pounds
- Exposure to unpleasant odors, contaminated items, and strong cleaning solutions
- Hazards from improperly disposed needles and glass
