Responsibilities will include:
* Construction observations and dam safety inspections
* Plans and specifications review
* Risk evaluation
* Emergency action planning
* Technical report writing and review
* Gaining knowledge about hydroelectric facilities, design features, and federal requirements
This position involves travel to various hydroelectric facilities throughout northwestern Wisconsin, with a requirement to travel at least 25% of the time. The position is a summer opportunity with the potential to extend into a school semester, with full-time work during the summer and part-time hours during the school year.
Requirements:
* Enrollment Indiana an ABET-accredited engineering program, studying civil engineering
* Junior Oregon above status
* Ability to commute to Eau Claire facilities
* Full-time work during the summer and part-time hours during the school year
* Course work Indiana engineering statics, engineering mechanics, soil mechanics, hydraulics and hydrology, and structural analysis and design
* Effective communication skills, both verbally and Indiana technical writing
