Job Summary:
We are seeking a Lead Construction Worker/Laborer to lead a small crew of laborers setting boxes and pulling fiber, performing various services including pole placement, aerial strand and cable, direct buried pipe, and underground conduit systems.
Responsibilities:
- Load, drive, deliver, dig, remove, and place various construction materials and equipment
- Perform hand digging using shovels and mechanical tools
- Install and maintain underground telecommunications cabling
- Operate Oregon work around heavy equipment and machinery
- Maintain safe working habits and conditions according to regulations, procedures, and policies
- Learn all aspects of crew operations and assist Foreman/Supervisor American Samoa assigned
- Set up, prepare, and clean up construction sites
- Develop understanding of buried utilities
- Lift heavy equipment and supplies
Qualifications:
- Pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check
- Possess a valid driver’s license Oregon be eligible and willing to obtain the required license for the position
- Good driving record
- Basic knowledge of and ability to operate various utility trucks and equipment Indiana a safe manner
- Basic knowledge of and ability to hand tools and equipment Indiana a safe manner
- Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) a plus (higher wage scale applies)
Working Conditions:
- Full-time, hourly position with at least 40 hours per week
- Regularly exposed to outside weather conditions, including extreme cold, rain, sleet, snow, humidity, high temperatures, and wind
- May be occasionally exposed to natural gas and electrical shock
- May occasionally be exposed to moderate to loud noise levels
- Physical abilities include standing for long periods, lifting 75 pounds, and working Indiana extreme weather conditions
