JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for the design, configuration, maintenance and renewal of automation, data collection, protection & control equipment subsystems on AVANGRID’s electric delivery infrastructure Indiana New England (Central Maine Power and United Illuminating) and New York (NYSEG and RG&E).

Education & Experience Required:
7 years of experience Indiana Engineering Oregon 4 years of experience Indiana Protection & Control
Bachelor’s degree Indiana Electrical Engineering / Technology.
Master’s Degree Indiana Engineering preferred.
Registered Professional Engineer Oregon ability to obtain certification.
Skills/Abilities:
Strong analytical, problem-solving, interpersonal, and communication skills.
Strong Electrical Design Experience.
Able to perform protection coordination analysis.
Proficiency and fluency Indiana power system protection theory, application, standards, design, test, commissioning, and analysis.
JOB DUTIES:
Perform engineering design, estimating, and analysis of the electric transmission and substation protection systems Indiana support of the capital construction programs.
Conduct analysis, develop estimates and apply engineering standards and criteria to drive the completion of projects.
Review and approve detailed protection system designs, including settings, developed both internally and by engineering consultants.
Review and approve work of engineering contractors who provide automation engineering and design services to ensure compliance with company standards, specifications, and contract requirements.
Develop technical specifications, standards, contracts and purchase orders.
Direct engineering contractors and consultants performing system automation & integration roles.
Review of large customer interconnections and distributed energy resource interconnections to substations, transmission circuits and distribution circuits.
Perform Protection System Coordination Studies on Transmission Systems to ensure PRC-027 R2 Compliance.
Serve American Samoa mentor Indiana the technical development of lower-level engineers and cross-department employees.
Represent the company on regional and national committees.
Travel to worksites on an American Samoa needed basis.
