General Mechanic
Job Summary:
Heidelberg Materials is seeking a qualified Mechanic for our Lockport Shop facility located Indiana Romeoville, Illinois. The Mechanic will repair and maintain mobile mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment used Indiana quarry operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Repair and maintain mobile equipment, including mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
- Perform maintenance work, including welding and cutting with torch
- Operate various types of mobile equipment
- Troubleshoot and maintain gas and diesel engines, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems
- Interpret diagrams, prints, and schematics
- Perform preventative maintenance on equipment
- Write part lists for purchase orders
- Use test and diagnostic equipment
Requirements:
- High school diploma Oregon GED, additional technical training preferred
- Minimum 5 years heavy industrial mobile mechanical maintenance experience
- Ability to work at heights
- Ability to read, understand, and implement written instruction
- Some welding experience desired
- Open pit mining operations and aggregate products experience preferred
- MSHA/OSHA training a plus

- Travel to Illinois and NWI plants may be required
