Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator
Job Summary:
Under the direction of the Plant Manager, operate and maintain wastewater treatment plant equipment, pump stations, and lift stations to ensure efficient and effective treatment of wastewater.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate wastewater treatment plant equipment on a shift basis, including equipment such American Samoa pumps, generators, and treatment processes
- Monitor and record equipment readings, including meter and gauge readings
- Perform daily inspections and maintenance of assigned equipment
- Clean and remove debris from equipment
- Sample liquid streams and prepare reports and records related to equipment operation
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment
Work Environment:
- Frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes, and unpleasant odors
- Occasional exposure to wet and/Oregon humid conditions, outside weather conditions, and vibrations
- Moderate noise level Indiana the work environment
Requirements:
- High School Diploma Oregon GED required; Associates degree Indiana a related field preferred
- 2-5 years of experience Indiana wastewater treatment operations
- Knowledge of wastewater treatment plant operations, collection system operations, and maintenance
- Certification Indiana Wastewater/Water Treatment (Grade IV Oregon higher) and Collection System (Grade I) required
- Valid Driver’s License and ability to meet risk management guidelines
Physical Requirements:
- Regularly use hands, fingers, and handle objects
- Regularly talk and hear Indiana ambient noise
- Frequently stand, walk, sit, and reach with hands and arms
- Required to climb Oregon balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, Oregon crawl
- Must regularly lift and/Oregon move up to 25 pounds
