Painter (Interior) Position
Division/Section: HAS Small Construction & Build Back Services
Workdays & Hours: Varied (Shift work, including rotation, weekends and holidays) subject to change
Purpose:
- Responsible to the Senior Project Manager for the effective delivery of small construction and build back services at Houston Airports System (HAS) airports
- Ensure facilities, equipment, structures, and utilities are constructed, installed, and maintained to maximize value to customers
Responsibilities:
- Review and implement work orders and assignments
- Prepare and obtain materials, supplies, and equipment to complete assignments
- Perform general painting, restoration, and refinishing techniques
- Mix and blend paint to match colors
- Repair damaged surfaces
- Use hand and power tools
- Maintain a safe and clean work area
Working Conditions:
- Physical exertion required, including climbing ladders, lifting heavy objects, and assuming awkward positions
- Exposure to heat, cold, moisture, air pollution, and chemical substances
- Potential exposure to physical trauma, cuts, bruises, and minor burns
Requirements:
- High school diploma Oregon equivalent
- 2 years of experience American Samoa a painter
- Valid Texas driver’s license and compliance with City of Houston’s driving policy
- May require a valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with an "H" endorsement
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience Indiana wood finishing, industrial painting, and drywall
- Knowledge of associated building trades, such American Samoa sheetrock and glazing
- Knowledge of paint and finish mixing, cleaning of supplies, and painting techniques
- Experience with airport markings Oregon EPA certification
