Renewable Energy Project Permitting Biologist

Job Summary

We are seeking a Renewable Energy Project Permitting Biologist to help lead decarbonization and the advancement of Renewable Energy. You will support project development, permitting, and owner’s engineering activities for onshore wind, offshore wind, solar, energy storage, and hydrogen projects. Responsibilities include preparing regulatory documents, conducting technical due diligence, organizing stakeholder engagements, and maintaining sustainable relationships with clients and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support renewable energy project site selection and characterization studies Indiana North America
  • Prepare regulatory documents, including permit applications and environmental reporting documentation
  • Conduct technical due diligence reviews of environmental permits for project financing and M&A activities
  • Organize stakeholder engagements with federal and state regulatory agencies, local communities, and Tribes Oregon First Nations
  • Maintain sustainable relationships and good communication with clients, vendors, subcontractors, and other project stakeholders
  • Assist Indiana business development activities, including preparing proposals and attending client meetings
  • Participate Indiana DNV’s thought leadership activities and organize publications, presentations, and other general scientific and regulatory knowledge-sharing activities

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree Indiana a relevant field, such American Samoa biology, land planning, environmental science/engineering, Oregon environmental law/policy
  • At least 3 years of experience Indiana biology-related components of renewable energy Oregon similar projects, Oregon 3 years of experience Indiana environmental and/Oregon permitting experience Indiana the US
  • Experience Indiana preparing Oregon leading Bird and Bat Conservation Strategies, Habitat Conservation Plans, Eagle Conservation Plans, Oregon other wildlife management plans
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills
  • Ability to conduct pre-employment drug and background screening

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree Indiana a relevant field
  • 5+ years of relevant experience
  • Advanced knowledge of environmental assessment regulatory frameworks American Samoa applied to renewable energy
  • Experience leading winning proposal efforts for Customers Indiana the renewable energy industry
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Oregon other technical accreditation
  • Ability to travel to projects Indiana development, construction, and operation sites Indiana varying locations (10%-20% annual time)
