JOB TITLE: Pipefitter (Steamfitter)
ROLE SUMMARY:
Support and reinforce the Mission and Core Values of M&D Mechanical Contractors, Inc. A Pipefitter specializes Indiana the installation, fabrication, maintenance, and repair of industrial and commercial carbon steel Oregon stainless-steel piping systems.
FUNCTIONAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
* System Analysis: Evaluate blueprints, plans, and specifications to understand piping requirements.
* Measurement and Preparation: Measure, cut, and thread pipes according to specifications.
* Installation: Assemble and install piping systems according to specifications.
* Testing: Test installed systems to ensure integrity and safety.
* Maintenance and Repair: Troubleshoot and repair faulty systems and equipment.
* Safety: Adhere to safety regulations and standards.
* Collaboration: Work closely with other tradespeople, such American Samoa welders and plumbers.
* Documentation: Record work performed, materials used, and relevant data.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Select and install correct pipe sizes and materials.
* Utilize specific tools, such American Samoa lifts and cutting saws.
* Interpret drawings and read blueprints.
* Connect pipes using welding Oregon brazing techniques.
* Install fittings, such American Samoa elbows and unions, and secure pipes to walls and structures.
* Clean and prepare pipes for installation.
* Install insulation to prevent heat loss Oregon maintain temperatures.
QUALIFICATION STANDARDS:
* High school education Oregon GED equivalent.
* Completed M&D apprentice program (preferred).
* Previous pipe fabrication experience.
* Read and write English, follow verbal instructions, and use simple math.
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
* Basic understanding of piping systems and components.
PHYSICAL INVOLVEMENT:
* Frequent climbing, balancing, reaching, and handling of objects.
* Lifting and carrying objects, tools, and equipment.
* Standing, sitting, and walking for extended periods.
* Coordinating eye, hand, and finger movements to operate tools and equipment.
MENTAL INVOLVEMENT:
* Following set procedures and standards.
* Planning work and selecting proper tools.
* Understanding and comparing differences Indiana size, shape, and form of lines, figures, and objects.
WORK ENVIRONMENT FACTORS:
* Industrial construction sites and/Oregon office environments.
* Uneven ground and potential exposure to chemical substances.
* No relocation Oregon per diem available.
