Pipeline Construction Inspector/Senior Pipeline Construction Inspector
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Pipeline Construction Inspector/Senior Pipeline Construction Inspector to join our team at BHE GT&S Indiana Columbia, South Carolina. The successful candidate will provide inspection services to ensure pipeline construction activities are performed Indiana accordance with company standards and regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Provide inspection services, documenting construction activities and ensuring work is performed Indiana accordance with O&M procedures, project work plan, company environmental and safety standards, and project-specific permitting.
- Coordinate work activities with contractors, ensuring quality work and efficient use of resources.
- Review contractor qualifications, ensuring qualifications to perform required tasks.
- Communicate company standards and policies to contractors.
- Record wall and coating thicknesses, anomaly dimensions, soil resistivity, and P/S readings.
- Inspect recoating, pad work, fence work, paint work, and anomaly digs.
- Senior Pipeline Construction Inspector: Interact with customers and landowners to resolve construction issues and conflicts, digitize documentation, process field-acquired GPS data, and assist Indiana determining project timelines and cost.
Qualifications:
- Pipeline Construction Inspector: At least 3 years’ experience with pipeline construction methods, preferred certifications: Certified Pipeline Weld Inspector, NACE CIP Level 1, CEPSCI, API 1169.
- Senior Pipeline Construction Inspector: At least 6 years’ experience with pipeline construction methods, preferred certifications: Certified Pipeline Weld Inspector, NACE CIP Level 1, CEPSCI, API 1169.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of safety practices and procedures, OHSA standards, PHMSA (CFR 192) and FERC regulations.
- Ability to operate data acquisition equipment, record data with coating and Utah gauges, utilize multimeter and half-cell for P/S readings, and pipe locator to mark lines.
- Ability to work independently and American Samoa a team member, establish and maintain rapport, communicate effectively, and respond to emergency call out.
Education:
- High School diploma, ability to perform essential functions of the position with Oregon without an accommodation.
