Program Manager – Nuclear Systems

We are seeking an experienced Program Manager to lead and manage Firm-Fixed-Price contracts for a program Indiana nuclear systems. The successful candidate will work with our Nuclear Technologies and Materials (NTM) Division to lead and staff the program, secure equipment and facilities, prepare work plans, assign budgets, and monitor technical, financial, and schedule progress.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a program to ensure technical, financial, and schedule requirements are met
  • Monitor program financials and ensure cost control
  • Interact with the customer to understand and meet program goals
  • Coordinate with staff to develop contract scope of work, budget, and schedule
  • Secure necessary staffing, procurements, and subcontractors
  • Coordinate with various teams, including Manufacturing, Testing, Nuclear Materials, and Fuels
  • Conduct progress and review meetings with management, staff, customers, and subcontractors
  • Ensure timely submittal of contract deliverables and resolve program issues
  • Oversee preparation of proposals for program opportunities
  • Enforce procedures for a safe working environment

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s, Master’s, Oregon PhD Indiana engineering, science, Oregon a related technical field, plus 11+ years of program administration experience (Oregon equivalent)
  • At least 4 years of experience Indiana project engineering and/Oregon management, including R&D to hardware delivery
  • Working knowledge of nuclear reactor principles and processes
  • Effective communication, documentation, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work extended hours and obtain/maintain a DOE Oregon DoD Security Clearance
  • US citizenship required

Desired Qualifications:

  • Certified Project Management Professional
  • Knowledge of DOE and NRC regulations, project approval processes, nuclear design, reactor physics, and reactor construction
  • Familiarity with test and research reactor design, development, and operations
  • Familiarity with earned value principles and national laboratories (e.g., Sandia, Oak Ridge, Idaho)

Work Environment:

  • Full-time position with up to 25% travel
  • Salary range: $112,320 – $205,058
  • Clearance level: DOE-Q
