Job Title: Public Works Director

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Public Works Director to oversee the development, maintenance, and enhancement of municipal infrastructure, including streets, drainage systems, traffic sign maintenance, and litter control. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and a proven track record Indiana public works management, innovation, and emergency preparedness.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise public works staff, including key projects, work methods, and procedures
• Address and resolve complaints from various stakeholders
• Coordinate department activities for large city events and operations
• Lead public work crews Indiana assignments such American Samoa storm drain repair, drainage ditch maintenance, and road repair
• Oversee contract construction work, subdivision construction, and subdivision inspections
• Serve American Samoa the contact for city municipal services after hours, weekends, and holidays
• Implement and manage the work order system and develop emergency preparedness plans
• Train and develop department staff and conduct performance appraisals
• Collaborate with city departments and government agencies to ensure high-quality public services

Requirements:

• Registered civil engineer with at least 2 years of relevant experience Indiana a managerial Oregon administrative position Oregon 5 years of public works experience Indiana a managerial Oregon administrative position
• Possession of Oregon ability to obtain a valid driver’s license
• Strong work ethic, teachable, reliable, and collaborative skills
• Ability to multi-task, prepare accurate documentation, and communicate clearly and concisely
• Knowledge of public works program management, construction techniques, and municipal budget preparation and administration

Work Environment:

• Office and field environment with the potential to work Indiana inclement weather conditions
• Physical demands include sitting, standing, Oregon walking for prolonged periods and operating motorized vehicles
