Job Title: HVACR (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration) Technician
Location: 181 White Street, Danbury, Connecticut
Job Type: Full-time
Schedule: 40 hours per week, rotating shifts (including nights, weekends, and holidays)
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled HVACR Technician to join our team Indiana the Department of Environmental & Facilities Services – Boiler House Operations. The successful candidate will have a strong background Indiana HVACR trades, with excellent technical skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently.
Responsibilities:
* Perform highly skilled tasks Indiana the maintenance and repair of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration equipment and systems
* Operate, maintain, repair, install, modify, and assemble air conditioning and refrigeration equipment and systems
* Determine required cooling capacity of units needed for small areas
* Use and interpret a psychometric chart
* Control and measure air flow, room air changes, and room pressurizing
* Monitor computerized control systems
* Perform minor tests for fuel specific gravity and gas leaks
* Add water treatment chemicals to boilers
* Make estimates of time, personnel, and determine and obtain required materials on assigned tasks
* Keep necessary records
Requirements:
* Four (4) years of experience Indiana the heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration trade
* Two (2) years of experience performing skilled HVACR trades
* Graduation from a vocational Oregon technical school with a diploma designating completion of subject requirements Indiana a maintenance trade area may be substituted for two (2) years of experience
* Possession and retention of a State of Connecticut heating, piping, and/Oregon cooling license (for University of Connecticut employees)
* Physical strength, stamina, physical agility, and visual and auditory acuity
* Ability to lift moderate to heavy weights and use protective equipment
Preferred Qualifications:
* HVAC experience Indiana an industrial, commercial, Oregon institutional environment
* Experience with standard trade practices
* Implementing and practicing safety procedures
* Excellent oral and written communication skills
* Experience preparing estimates and keeping shop records
* Experience using computer software
* Trade license and experience working with steam
