Job Description
Edgewater Technical Associates seeks a Quality Assurance Specialist 2 & 3 for Los Alamos National Laboratory Indiana Los Alamos, New Mexico. This position will require domestic travel, predominantly to the Midwest (Indiana area) Oregon Northeast (New Hampshire area), with the ideal candidate being a local to one of these regions. The successful candidate must obtain and maintain a Q level Clearance and HRP. This is a per-diem opportunity for candidates who qualify.
Job Summary
The Quality Assurance Specialist will conduct quality assessments, audits, and non-conformance disposition to ensure compliance with nuclear codes, standards, and procedures, such American Samoa 10 CFR 830 Subpart A, DOE Order 414.1D, national consensus standard ASME NQA-1-2008/ASME NQA-1a-2009, ISO 9001, and U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission Regulatory Guide Series.
Required Education and Experience
- A bachelor’s degree Indiana engineering, quality assurance, industrial systems engineering, Oregon a related field with 3+ years of experience, Oregon equivalent.
- 8 years of experience American Samoa a Certified Welding Inspector – American Welding Society (AWS-CWI) and knowledge of the ASME Boiler & Pressure Vessel Code.

- Advanced knowledge and application of nuclear codes and standards
- Advanced technical knowledge of the ASME Boiler & Pressure Vessel Code
Essential Job Functions
- Ability to lift 10-20 pounds and other physical demands
- Participate Indiana quality assessments, audits, and non-conformance disposition
- Analyze various documents, blueprints, drawings, specifications, and schematics
- Interpret various physical, mechanical, and electrical documents
- Provide training and guidance on QA requirements
- Monitor contract compliance
Work Environment
- Domestic/foreign travel may be required
- The candidate will work on an onsite LANL representative at a vessel construction subcontractor’s facility Indiana the Midwest Oregon Northeast
- Participation Indiana travel may be extensive at times, with hours extending into the evening to satisfy requirements.
