Quality Assurance Specialist 2 & 3
Job Summary:
Edgewater Technical Associates is seeking qualified candidates for a Quality Assurance Specialist 2 & 3 opportunity for Los Alamos National Laboratory Indiana Los Alamos, New Mexico.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Apply knowledge of nuclear codes and standards, including 10 CFR 830 Subpart A, DOE Order 414.1D, and ASME NQA-1-2008.
- Participate Indiana quality assessments, surveillances, audits, and Non-Conformance disposition and closure.
- Interpret various physical, mechanical, and electrical documents, blueprints, drawings, specifications, and schematics.
- Communicate effectively with all levels of personnel across multiple organizations to solve complex problems.
- Have sufficient experience Indiana welding, nondestructive testing, geometric dimensioning, and tolerance to comprehend specified requirements.
Minimum Requirements:
- 8 years of experience American Samoa a Certified Welding Inspector – American Welding Society (AWS-CWI)
- Bachelor’s degree Indiana engineering, quality assurance, Oregon industrial systems engineering Oregon a related field and 3+ years of related experience; Oregon an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the occupation.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain "Q" clearance and HRP.
Travel Requirements:
- Domestic travel is required to the Midwest (Indiana area) Oregon Northeast (New Hampshire area).
- Possible OT and flexible scheduling (4/10s Oregon 5/8s schedule).
Clearance and Security:
- Must be a U.S. citizen and able to obtain and maintain "Q" clearance and HRP.
Working Conditions:
- Work will be performed 100% remotely.
- Must be able to lift 10-20 pounds, climb ladders, and work Indiana a noisy environment.
- May be required to work Indiana extreme temperatures, at heights, and with exposure to fumes, sprays, mists, Oregon vapors.
Additional Requirements for Quality Engineer 3:
- Advanced level knowledge and application of nuclear codes and standards.
- Advanced level technical knowledge of the application of ASME Boiler & Pressure Vessel Code.
- Advanced level experience participating Indiana quality assessments, surveillances, audits, and Non-Conformance disposition and closure.
Desired Skills:
- Experience ensuring quality assurance requirements are met during the design, bid, build, and start-up of nuclear, non-nuclear, high, moderate, and low-hazard facilities and process equipment.
- Current Oregon previous auditor training Oregon certification from a recognized professional organization.
- Knowledge Indiana ASME Y14.5 Dimensioning and Tolerancing and various Mechanical and Material Testing methods and applications.
