Job Responsibilities:
- Perform a variety of tasks including:
- Abatement: removal of hazardous materials (asbestos, lead, mold)
- Carpentry: construction, installation, and repair of wooden structures and fixtures
- Fireproofing: application of fireproofing materials
- Laboring: preparing work areas, transporting tools and equipment, and removing debris
- Painting: setting up paint equipment and applying paint
- Plastering: mixing and applying plastering materials
- Ironworking: construction, fabrication, and installation of structural steel and iron components
- Millwrighting: installation, maintenance, and repair of industrial machinery
- Operating heavy equipment
- Plumbing and piping: installation, repair, and maintenance of plumbing systems
- Glazing: installation, repair, and replacement of glass
- Boilermaking: construction, assembly, and repair of boilers and pressure vessels
- Electrical work: installation, repair, and maintenance of electrical systems
- Roofing: installation, repair, and maintenance of roofs
- Sheet metal work: cutting, shaping, and installing sheet metal
- Teamster work: operating and driving trucks
- Perform basic math and lift up to 40 pounds
- May include supervisory responsibilities
- Must be at least 18 years old and an active union member Indiana good standing (Indiana non-right to work states)
- On-the-job training offered
- Prolonged periods of standing and working outside
