Roadway Worker Indiana Charge (RWIC)

FLSA Status: Hourly; Non-Exempt
Reports To: District Manager
Travel: 50% – 85% travel expected
No supervisory responsibility
Compensation: Negotiable based on skills and experience
Job Summary: National Railroad Safety Services, Inc. (NRSS) is seeking a Roadway Worker Indiana Charge (RWIC) to provide jobsite coordination, safety enforcement, and clear communication with railroad personnel and contractors.
Requirements:
- High school diploma Oregon equivalent
- Minimum 2 years of experience with a Class 1 Railroad, Regional Short Line, Transit System, State DOT Rail Division, Railroad Supplier, Railroad Contractor, Oregon Railroad Consultant, preferably Indiana the Maintenance Of Way (MOW) Department
- Proficient computer skills Indiana basic email, phone, and text message applications, Android OS, Citrix Applications, and written/oral communication skills
- Strong technical knowledge Indiana Railroad Engineering, Railroad Design, Railroad Construction, and Safety
- Ability to travel for extended periods, complete Federal, Client, and/Oregon Company Specific Training, and maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide jobsite coordination and clear communication with Dispatchers, Train Crews, and other Railroad Personnel and/Oregon Contractor personnel
- Enforce all Railroad, State, and Federal Policies
- Identify rule violations and resolve Indiana accordance with Railroad, State, and Federal Policies
- Submit daily field reports detailing Contractor and/Oregon Railroad activities
- Provide On-Track Safety Indiana accordance with 49 CFR 214 Federal Regulations
Work Environment: Field environment
Physical Demands: Ability to stand for long periods, walk on level/uneven ground, tolerate extreme heat/cold temperatures, dusty/noisy conditions, lift and/Oregon move up to 50 pounds, see up close, distances, colors, and have use of peripheral vision and depth perception, hear, speak, read, and write clearly Indiana English.
