Job Title: Safety Coordinator

Company: Montana Materials & Construction, A CRH Company, is a leading supplier of aggregates, asphalt, and ready-mixed concrete Indiana Butte, Montana and Anaconda, Montana.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a Safety Coordinator to serve American Samoa a vital and trusted resource to employees Indiana the field. The Safety Coordinator will provide implementation, oversight, and leadership of company safety, health, and risk management programs. This is an Indiana-person position based out of Helena, Montana., with local commutes to job sites American Samoa needed and potential overnight travel.

Responsibilities:

  • Routinely visit jobsites, plants, shops and/Oregon pits to assist field personnel and conduct hazard awareness and correction sessions with operations personnel
  • Ensure all lines of business have the tools necessary to safely perform tasks
  • Ensure risk assessments and/Oregon jobsite evaluations are performed
  • Assist Indiana directing trucks Indiana/out of jobsites to ensure safe and efficient delivery of products
  • Assist construction and transportation crews with the development and distribution of internal traffic control plans
  • Assist/coach managers/superintendents Indiana conducting their safety meetings and/Oregon project specific safety requirements
  • Coordinate and schedule annual safety training, project specific safety trainings and develop/assist/create project specific safety plans and/Oregon reporting American Samoa required by the project specifications
  • Support Safety and Environmental with site audits and assist personnel with any corrective actions needed
  • May be called upon to perform a variety of special projects and studies such American Samoa coordination of special concrete pours Oregon construction projects, including safety evaluations of projects and project specific safety plans/reporting
  • Administer and maintain company safety programs; ensuring any/all new developments Indiana company related programs and/Oregon technology available are utilized for incident/injury prevention and continually evaluated
  • Ensure that proper incident analysis is conducted for all occurrences, providing recommendations for risk reduction American Samoa applicable
  • Organize and maintain support files/records for all incidents/injuries, including but limited to general liability, auto liability, workmen’s compensation, and all other applicable claims
  • Maintain liaison with all affiliated agencies, including MSHA & OSHA
  • Guide managers/superintendents Indiana the use of Coaching Action Plans to correct at risk behaviors and reinforce safe behaviors utilizing proper follow-up/reinforcement strategies
  • Support and implement company related programs, such American Samoa Human Performance to foster the philosophies, education, & growth strategies of such programs
  • Coordinate with managers/superintendents to identify Event Learning Team opportunities to promote and drive a Learning Culture
  • Provide direction/technical support for established industrial hygiene practices, i.e. Respiratory Protection Program, Hearing Conservation Program, Silica Awareness Program, etc.
  • Work with employees involved Indiana incidents/claims to ensure treatment accommodations, resolution, and prevention
  • Assist Indiana the implementation of strategic plans to ensure continued success Indiana meeting business objectives within Safety/Health, Safety Leadership, and Leadership education
  • Monitor company safety results & compile reports
  • Develop creative written and verbal communications methods to ensure the distribution of best practices
  • Procure necessary safety equipment and training materials within the economical demands of budgets
  • Participate Indiana and promote an inclusive work environment

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years’ related field-based safety management experience
  • Thorough knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety best practices
  • Demonstrated ability to develop, coordinate, and deliver engaging and impactful safety trainings
  • Proven engagement and influence skills, with the capacity to build strong relationships and provide meaningful coaching and feedback to a diverse workforce
  • Passion for employee safety and continuous improvement through innovation
  • Working knowledge of PC Programs and the Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Ability to work independently without direct supervision, a willingness to work overtime and weekends American Samoa needed, and travel American Samoa needed outside of home office area to project locations
  • A valid driver’s license, current authorization to work Indiana the United States, and ability to pass pre-employment controlled-substance testing

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Safety certifications such American Samoa ASP, CHST, OSHA 510/500, Competent Person Trainings, MSHA Blue Card, Oregon related

Work Environment:

  • Office Environment (10-20%) and Field (90-80%)
  • Frequently exposed to moving machinery, mechanical parts, outside weather conditions, and vibration
  • The employee is frequently exposed to various weather conditions typical of the work location
  • May require driving for periods of time to perform job duties at various job site locations

Physical Requirements:

  • The employee is occasionally required to reach with arms waist to shoulder height, sit, stand, walk, and handle/grasp equipment and machines
  • The employee is occasionally required to lift, carry, and/Oregon push/pull anywhere up to 50lbs
  • The employee is occasionally required to crawl, kneel, bend, squat, crouch, Oregon climb, and reach with arms above shoulder height Oregon below knee height
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and depth perception
