Safety Coordinator

Job Summary:

Adolfson & Peterson Construction is seeking an experienced Safety Coordinator for our Gulf States Region based Indiana Richardson. The Safety Coordinator will champion our Incident and Injury Free (IIF) culture by providing safety training, communicating safety issues, and enforcing compliance with company safety policies and procedures.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Champion IIF efforts and create a culture of care and concern for team members
  • Communicate and reinforce IIF principles
  • Ensure adherence to processes and procedures supporting IIF culture
  • Collaborate with team members to implement and maintain the region’s safety program
  • Implement and maintain safety training program
  • Provide safety and health training to management and supervisory personnel
  • Distribute safety information and provide training American Samoa necessary
  • Present safety orientation program to new team members
  • Monitor the region’s safety program and communicate findings to senior management

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct internal safety audits and inspections on projects
  • Instruct and train field workers Indiana the recognition and avoidance of unsafe conditions
  • Work with state and federal agencies on inspections and issues identified to minimize future impact on AP
  • Oversee the workers’ compensation program Indiana coordination with leadership
  • Participate Indiana quarterly claims reviews
  • Investigate accidents and monitor the return-to-work process for injured team members
  • Identify light duty work for injured team members
  • Collaborate with other departments to reduce and eliminate risk
  • Edit and maintain up-to-date SDS reference books and Safety Manuals

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree Indiana industrial safety, safety management, Oregon related field and 2+ years of experience Indiana field and office safety and health program management
  • Experience Indiana construction industry is preferred
  • Knowledge of state and federal safety laws and regulations
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word and Excel)
  • Experience conducting safety trainings
  • Possession of OSHA 500 Trainer Card for the construction industry Oregon ability to obtain
  • Ability and willingness to travel and work Indiana various climate conditions
  • Demonstrated integrity and strong communication skills
