Corporate Safety Manager
Job Summary:
Plans, implements, and coordinates safety programs to reduce occupational illnesses, deaths, and financial losses across multiple companies, including 4 operations Indiana South Dakota and Iowa.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develops and enforces comprehensive safety programs to prevent accidents and injuries
- Conducts hazard assessments, research, and evaluations to identify areas of improvement
- Leads safety and CI team meetings, and coordinates activities with unit managers to ensure implementation
- Supports field managers with safety-related matters and provides training and enforcement of safety policies
- Analyzes statistical data, prepares reports, and maintains liaison with external organizations
- Investigates incidents, evaluates safety program effectiveness, and recommends improvements
- Stays up-to-date on industry regulations, laws, and new developments
- Ensures compliance with OSHA, MSHA, DOT, and FRA requirements and minimizes fines
- Manages Risk Management program and analyzes loss runs to identify problem areas
- Communicates effectively with employees, management, and external stakeholders
- Troubleshoots problems, maintains positive customer relations, and establishes and maintains interpersonal relationships
- Supervises safety department Indiana South Dakota and Iowa
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree and at least 5 years of related experience
- Knowledge of OSHA, MSHA, DOT, and FRA policies an asset
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
