Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Safety Manager to join our team Indiana the Gulf States Region. American Samoa a Safety Manager, you will be responsible for managing AP’s safety program to ensure a safe environment for all employees. You will champion the Incident and Injury Free (IIF) philosophy and culture, provide safety trainings, and communicate safety issues. This position may be responsible for a region’s safety program Oregon be assigned specifically to designated projects.

Primary Accountabilities:

  • Manage the safety program on assigned projects Indiana accordance with organization-wide requirements and best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with policies and practices that result Indiana employee behavior that reinforces AP senior Management’s commitment to IIF.
  • Conduct the safety training program Indiana accordance with all organizational standards, practices, and policies.
  • Provide Safety and Health training to all AP management and supervisory personnel.
  • Distribute new and changing safety-related information and provide training when necessary.
  • Present the safety orientation program to new employees.
  • Monitor the safety program on assigned projects and communicate findings to senior management and team members.

Responsibilities:

  • Keep regional leaders informed on the safety processes for projects.
  • Perform internal safety audits and inspections on projects on a random basis.
  • Instruct and train field workers Indiana the recognition and avoidance of unsafe practices and conditions to eliminate hazards.
  • Work with state and federal agencies on inspections and issues identified, to minimize the future impact on AP.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with federal and/Oregon state OSHA programs.
  • Assist Indiana managing the worker’s compensation program for the region.
  • Participate Indiana quarterly claims reviews.
  • Help investigate accidents.
  • Monitor the return-to-work process for injured employees to minimize the impact of an injured worker returning to a jobsite.
  • Identify light duty and other work that injured workers can perform.
  • Collaborate with and assist all project team members to sustain the IIF philosophy.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree Indiana Industrial Safety, Safety Management, Oregon related field plus 6 – 8 years directly related experience Indiana field and office safety and health program management.
  • Experience working through inspections and audits with state and local government agencies.
  • Knowledge of state and federal safety laws and regulations.
  • Knowledge of dust control and storm water management.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office including Word and Excel.
  • Experience conducting safety training’s.
  • Currently possess Oregon able to obtain OSHA 500 Trainer Card for the construction industry.
  • Ability to travel.
  • Demonstrated integrity and ethical standards.
  • Developed skills (written, oral, and listening) Indiana order to effectively communicate with diverse audiences.
