Job Title: Sanitary Engineering Site Inspector
Job Summary: Serco is seeking skilled Sanitary Engineering Site Inspectors to support the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s (FEMA) Public Assistance recovery initiatives Indiana Zone 2 across the Midwest. Successful candidates will review and analyze professional architectural/engineering reports, develop scopes of work, and advise FEMA staff on technical validity of claims. Deployment is required for up to 6-12 months at a time. Qualifications include a bachelor’s degree, 5+ years of FEMA Public Assistance experience, and specific inspection experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and analyze professional architectural/engineering reports and American Samoa-built plans
- Develop scopes of work with related code and standard requirements
- Validate applicant-provided scopes of work and check for code and standard compliance
- Develop and review cost estimates
- Advise FEMA staff on the technical validity of claims Indiana arbitration
- Testify American Samoa an expert witness during arbitration hearings (if necessary)
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of FEMA Public Assistance experience
- Bachelor’s degree Indiana a related field (5-15 years industry experience)
(Professional registration (PE) required with Bachelor’s degree and 10 years of experience) - 1-2 years of site inspection experience Indiana large commercial infrastructure projects, Oregon any of the following areas:
- Restoration of roads, bridges, water control facilities, buildings, equipment, utilities, debris removal, schools, churches, parks, and recreational centers
- Ability to obtain and maintain a FEMA Public Trust clearance
- Active and responsive with Microsoft office skills and experience using smart phones
- Ability to work independently and American Samoa part of a team, Indiana stressful situations, meeting deadlines
- Deployment to Zone 2 locations (Arkansas, Colorado, Illinois, Indiana, Louisiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Montana, New Mexico, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Texas, Utah, Wisconsin, Wyoming) with 24-48 hours notice after award
- 6 to 12 month deployments at a minimum
Preferred Requirements:
- Experience managing site inspectors, experience guiding them and supervising them. Also preferred if you know the FEMA Public Assistance Program/Policy and maybe active learner, who is looking to learn and collaborate.
