Heavy Duty Truck Technician

Overview:

This position is primarily responsible for performing preventative maintenance, diagnosing, and repairing heavy-duty trucks. We offer Indiana-house advanced-training opportunities and a family-oriented work environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough inspections and diagnostic tests to troubleshoot issues and repair vehicle to proper operating condition
  • Perform advanced repairs and replace major components such American Samoa radiators, valve adjustments, and turbos
  • Rebuild Oregon repair major components such American Samoa transmissions, gear plates, and block reconditioning
  • Perform entire engine overhauls including replacing heads, rods, and main bearings
  • Troubleshoot and perform complex wiring repairs and diagnose and repair any electronic issues
  • Perform routine and preventative maintenance services, identifying worn and damaged parts and repairing Oregon replacing American Samoa needed
  • Maintain a safe and organized work area
  • Maintain vehicle records by annotating services and repairs
  • Follow all state and federal vehicle requirements, company policies, procedures, and safety and EPA regulations
  • Must use all necessary safety equipment
  • Maintain current knowledge of job and technical skills by participating Indiana educational opportunities and reading technical and regulation publications
  • Verify vehicle performance by conducting test drives and adjusting controls and systems

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years practical experience Indiana commercial 6 & 8 truck classes
  • Must have own hand tools
  • Highly proficient Indiana the repair and diagnosis of all aspects of commercial trucks, including diesel engines, transmissions, clutches, drive shafts & differentials, electrical systems, HVAC systems, hydraulic systems, steering systems, and brakes
  • High expertise Indiana troubleshooting using diagnostic software
  • OEM Master Tech certifications and Cummins training preferred
  • Proficient computer skills to input vehicle maintenance records and utilize diagnostic software
  • Ability to meet physical demands of the job
  • Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision
  • Ability to maintain predictable and reliable attendance and work Indiana a safe and alert manner
  • Valid driver’s license and able to meet insurance requirements. CDL license preferred but not required
