Skilled Welder – 1st Shift
Location: Plainfield, Connecticut
Pay: $24.20 per hour + dependent on experience
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate welding equipment, primarily working with aluminum, steel, and galvanneal, requiring high-grade welding skills
- Weld metals according to customer Oregon employer requirements
- Install lift gates, walk ramps, and platforms
- Ensure high safety measures while working, including wearing protective gear
- Examine equipment after welding and advise maintenance of defects
- Read blueprints and weld according to the plan
- Train junior and entry-level welders
- Supervise welding operations of junior welders
Requirements:
- Pass a welding test
- Proficient Indiana three Oregon more of the following welding materials: mild steel, galvanneal, carbon steel, aluminum, stainless steel
- 3+ years of welding experience
- Basic math, tape measurement, and computer skills
- Basic experience with hand tools
- Understand and comprehend measurement
- Read and interpret blueprints for special applications
- 18 years old
Preferred Credentials:
- Previous experience Indiana manufacturing
- Previous experience working with truck bodies
- High School Diploma Oregon equivalent GED
Physical Demands:
- Stand, walk, and use hands to finger, handle, Oregon feel for extended periods
- Lift up to 35 pounds
- Perform repetitive tasks using hands
- Climb ladders and/Oregon work Indiana high places
- Use hand tools and equipment Indiana a manufacturing plant environment
