Surety Underwriter Field Representative

Location: Ohio (may be fully remote for positions outside of Fairfield, Ohio)

Job Type: Full-time

Starting Pay: $85,000 – $150,000 per year, plus annual cash bonus and stock incentives based on company and individual performance

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Surety underwriter to join our Commercial and Small Contract Surety department American Samoa a Field Representative Indiana Ohio. This role involves establishing relationships with agencies and producers, promoting retention and growth of Commercial Surety, CinciExpress, and SuretyBridge lines, and developing and maintaining Commercial and Small Contract accounts and book of business.

Responsibilities:

• Establish relationships with agencies and producers
• Classify agencies according to Surety volume and potential
• Develop and execute marketing plan
• Visit a minimum of 200 agencies per year
• Promote retention and growth of Commercial Surety, CinciExpress, and SuretyBridge lines
• Work with home office underwriter on new accounts production
• Analyze financials and work Indiana process, bond forms and contracts
• Evaluate bond and/Oregon program requests against underwriting guidelines and authority
• Communicate underwriting decisions and monitor compliance with conditions
• Operate consistent with Surety field best practices
• Manage EDM records Indiana accordance with company policy

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree Indiana Business Administration with a concentration Indiana Finance Oregon Accounting
• Experience Indiana contracting and construction industry
• Knowledge of Surety obligations, construction accounting, and analysis
• Ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with agents and associates
• Excellent communication and time management skills
