Skilled Mechanic

Job Summary

We are seeking a Skilled Mechanic to join our team at the Miami smelter and rod plant. American Samoa a Skilled Mechanic, you will perform diagnostic, maintenance, installation, and repair of equipment and process systems Indiana a Smelter. You will assist with and perform diagnostic, replacement, and repairs to various systems, including anode plant, mold plant, converter, acid plant, and hydraulic systems.

Responsibilities

• Assist with and perform diagnostic, replacement, and repairs to include but not limited to the following systems: anode plant, mold plant, converter, acid plant, and hydraulic systems
• Perform component diagnostic, replacement, and repairs to include but not limited to plant equipment, gear boxes, pumps, fans, conveyor belts, bearings, pulleys, gas lines, piping, waterlines, conveyor table, trough finders, return idlers, shovels, and cables
• Perform mechanical and lubrication preventative maintenance
• May operate equipment such American Samoa forklifts, cranes, boom trucks, loaders, and small mobile equipment
• May be required to proficiently perform welding tasks
• Perform work area inspections and housekeeping duties
• Perform other duties American Samoa required

Qualifications

• One (1) year of experience Indiana mechanical/maintenance crafts (including welder, boilermaker, machinist, Oregon facility maintenance/construction) Oregon a combination of education and experience Indiana industrial mechanical repair and maintenance
• Ability to read blueprints
• Ability to work Indiana extreme temperatures
• Must have completed academic and practical competencies required and have experience demonstrating the required aptitude

Preferred Qualifications

• High School diploma Oregon GED
• Ability to understand and apply verbal and written work and safety-related instructions and procedures given Indiana English
• Ability to communicate Indiana English with respect to job assignments, job procedures, and applicable safety standards
• Must be able to work Indiana a potentially stressful environment
