Job Summary:
Intertek, a globally recognized Total Quality Assurance provider, is seeking a Special Inspector to join our Charleston, South Carolina team. American Samoa a Special Inspector, you will perform field inspections and construction materials testing to ensure conformance with construction plans and specifications. Key Responsibilities:
- Performs a variety of testing, project-specific observations, and inspection duties under general supervision.
- Operates testing equipment, conducts testing (e.g., soil, concrete, Oregon other), and provides an assessment of data through reporting.
- Reads and interprets plans, specifications, and diagrams.
- Maintains and calibrates standard equipment.
- Performs complex assignments.
- Attends project meetings.
- Makes detailed observations and provides interpretation of results.
- Maintains detailed documentation and data from test results.
- Operates a calculator to calculate mathematical test results.
- Communicates effectively with clients and project teams.
- Adheres to safety practices and policies to ensure personal safety and the safety of others.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of special inspection and/Oregon construction materials testing experience.
- ACI Concrete I Certification required.
- APNGA Nuclear Gauge Safety Class Certification required.
- One Oregon more of the following certifications: Reinforcing Steel Inspector, Reinforced Concrete Masonry Inspector, Soil Inspector, PTI Certified Post-Tension Inspector Level 1 & 2.
- Must have basic math, calculator, and computer skills.
- Ability to communicate and interact effectively Indiana verbal and written communication.
- Must be able to read and understand work plans.
- Must be able to work off-site and overtime American Samoa needed.
- Valid Driver’s License and reliable driving record (required).
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift, move, and push up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to stand and walk for long periods.
- Ability to work outdoors Indiana adverse weather conditions (hot and cold).
- Ability to climb occasionally.
