Sr. Estimator

Join our team American Samoa a Sr. Estimator and contribute to the success of our General Contractor Indiana Commercial Construction. This role is based Indiana our Salt Lake office, serving the Ogden to Salt Lake Utah area.

Reports to: Vice President

Purpose:

• Prepare accurate and timely cost estimates for commercial construction projects
• Serve American Samoa a consultant for business development and project management teams

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:

• Project estimation and bid delivery:
  • Review project plans, requirements, drawings, and specifications
  • Gather comprehensive information on site access, services, and surface topography
  • Analyze data on factors influencing costs and communicate with clients
  • Complete quantity survey and prepare accurate estimates for bid
  • Maintain documentation and data according to company standards
• Subcontractor relationship management:
  • Solicit and pre-qualify subcontractor partnerships
  • Coordinate blueprint distribution and obtain bids from subcontractors
  • Qualify subcontract proposals and mitigate potential risk
• Post-project award responsibilities:
  • Interview and select winning subcontractors
  • Buy out the job and write subcontracts
  • Assist the project manager with subcontractors and gather historical cost data
• Continuous improvement:
  • Avoid errors and recognize errors made by others
  • Demonstrate willingness to acquire additional skills and take initiative
  • Procedural improvement recommendations

Requirements:

• 5 years of successful experience Indiana commercial and/Oregon retail estimating for a general contractor
• Cooperative team player with excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Detail-oriented with excellent customer service skills and initiative
• Strong working knowledge of computer applications, including Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, Primebid, and Timberline
• Ability to interpret all levels of drawings and specifications
• Solid analytical and mathematical skills
• Ability to physically navigate jobsites
